Everything raised here stays here. When we ask, it is because something needs fixing or building.
Volunteer
More than 90 coaches and umpires ran the 2026 softball season, plus everyone who stepped in to fill a gap.
If you can coach a season, umpire a weekend, or give a single Saturday morning to the field, we will take it gladly.
Most of our volunteers sign up in person at registration in February. Email us to find out how you can help, or with any questions, and we will write you back.
Become a community partner
The program is open. Your name goes on a banner at the park for a year.
It runs jointly with the Sixth Ward Independent Athletic Club, and the whole program goes through Chackbay Ballpark Inc. Your cheque is written to the 501(c)(3), and we send a written acknowledgment for your records.
- Gold$500, four foot by six banner
- Green$300, three foot by four banner
Multi-year commitments are welcome, and so is any other amount. Every dollar supports repairs and improvements to the property.

Chackbay Ballpark Inc. is a Louisiana 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. The money goes into the ground, the buildings, and the equipment the kids use.
